How Does the Dyson V15 Do in a Carpeted House With 4+ Pets?

Can it stand up to 3 months of pet hair and filth buildup?

Earlier this year, I was complaining about our vacuum to my partner when he casually mentioned, “Oh, by the way, our vacuum was recalled.” After a brief google, I realized that yes, our vacuum had been recalled for electrocuting people… almost ten years ago.

There’s not even an official page for the recall anymore, that’s how old it is.

Luckily, we were never electrocuted by it, but literally the next day I ordered a new vacuum. I wanted to get a nice one, because I despise vacuuming. Maybe this is delusional thinking, but I thought that a nice one would make me hate it less.

We do have 3 cats and a double-coated dog, so it’s critical that our vacuum handles pet hair well. Our 3-bedroom house is mostly carpeted and has carpeted stairs — my least favorite thing to vacuum.

With all this in mind, I did the tiniest bit of research and then impulse-bought the Dyson V15 Detect.

It’s a cordless vacuum, and it’s pretty high-end. There are some more expensive Dyson vacuums that are intended for commercial or professional use, but this is currently the fanciest “normal person” vacuum that Dyson sells.
