I've been hearing a lot of great things about Disco Elysium, but this review gives a new angle on it. It sounds like a game with a lot to unravel, very enticing. I haven't heard much about This War of Mine, but it seems fun.

I think the reason we seek out "anxiety-inducing situations through video games" is because tension is engaging, and the resolution of that tension is satisfying. And, when it's not real, we can enjoy tension and conflict without putting ourselves in any real danger.
