YouTuber’s Life 2: Game Review
I’ve been playing games my whole life, and streaming them for a little over two years, but I rarely put my thoughts about games into a formal format, like a review. The closest I’ve gotten has been my article with some indie game recommendations, or my “favorite games of 2021” video on YouTube.
But today I want to start properly reviewing some games, with the first being YouTuber’s Life 2.
I picked this game because it’s just the kind of thing that I usually like:
- a cute art style
- business-sim mechanics
- engaging mini games
- tangible character growth and progression
Game Features
YouTuber’s Life (the first game) was a cut-and-dry YouTube sim game, where you spent basically the entire time in a single room, making and publishing videos.
With YouTuber’s Life 2, they blew up the scope of the world and expanded it to include more locations, more activities, more characters, and — to a certain point — more video topics.
Time management is a core mechanic, and you start each day at 8:00 a.m. with a full energy bar and a list of trends. The more powerful a trend is, the more views you’ll get if you use that trend in a video.
